About Greater Houston Anesthesiology

As one of the largest anesthesia groups in the country, GHA employs over 300 anesthesia providers.

In order to uphold GHA’s reputation of quality, each GHA anesthesiologist holds and maintains a license to practice medicine in the state of Texas and is Board Certified or Board Eligible. All of our personnel who provide anesthesia are current in their ACLS certification.

GHA anesthesia providers perform over 200,000 anesthetics annually in all areas of anesthesiology, including cardiovascular, neurosurgery, obstetrics, orthopedics, and pediatrics.

GHA is the primary anesthesia provider for over 30 medical facilities in the greater Houston area. Our practice environments range from the foremost hospitals in the world’s largest medical center, community medical centers, and surgery centers across the greater Houston area.

There is a difference in anesthesia providers, that's why you should choose Greater Houston Anesthesiology.

Greater Houston Anesthesiology takes pride in its care to patients. In 1996 we began on a path to change the way Medical Staff Quality Review was approached. Our belief was that if we made reporting non-punitive, all GHA Providers would actively participate in providing information about cases where we may affect change. All providers are encouraged to report all cases to their CQI Representatives where there was less than an optimum outcome.

Doctors from every Division within GHA participate monthly in the review of all cases reported to CQI Representatives. No Physician may review a case from his Division so that information about the way care is rendered is shared from all over the GHA Territory. After review if there are any questions about the care rendered, letters are sent to providers asking questions or in some cases providing suggestions about other potential practices that may be helpful.

The new approach to Quality Improvement has been a tremendous success for GHA. Information is shared in Committee and care to our GHA Patients can improve.
