Steven Ropers, MD, OB Executive Committee USAP Bio

I am a fellowship-trained Obstetric Anesthesiologist who specializes in anesthesia on Labor & Delivery and for gynecological surgery.  Childbirth is an incredibly exciting yet stressful time for the pregnant patient and her family, and the expecting patient often feels some loss of control over the process.  I strive to give you back as much control as possible over your birth experience, ensuring a safe and pain-free delivery. Knowing that you have highly specialized Obstetric Anesthesiologists available who work on L&D on a daily basis may give you peace of mind during this somewhat tumultuous time.

Originally from Germany, I enjoy playing soccer, chess, traveling, and spending time with my wife and our two Labradoodle puppies.

Areas of clinical interest

I am interested in finding better ways to predict difficult deliveries in order to better allocate resources to ultimately improve outcomes.
