About me
I initially chose my residency program at Virginia Mason Medical Center for its emphasis on regional anesthesia. After a 9 year side trip into the world of cardiac anesthesia, I have returned to my interest in regional anesthesia in more recent years. While I currently have a broad range of practice, placing nerve blocks and learning new techniques fascinates me now as much as it did the day I placed my first spinal anesthetic as a resident.

I have lived in Seattle for over 20 years. In my free time I enjoy alpine skiing and hiking, motorcycling, bicycling, rock climbing, scuba diving, and most things outdoors. I also enjoy visiting family in Arizona and Austria, and spending time with my wife and son.

Areas of clinical interest
Regional anesthesia and nerve blocks/catheters, ambulatory anesthesia, and thoracic anesthesia.
